Pastor Keith Griswold looks at Nehemiah and how he led and influenced the people of Jerusalem to rebuild the wall that had been torn down 150 years earlier.  In chapter 3 of Nehemiah we see how we can inspire and encourage others as we all work at God’s mission.

We open today’s worship with a reading from Psalm 62:5-8.

We may not think we are leaders, but when we influence others , and they start to do and say things in our manner; then we are leaders.

Consider the words of our first hymn, “What gift Can We Bring?”

Give Everyone a Reason to Participate – Nehemiah 2:17-18
  • He identifies the problem
  • He invites them to get involved
  • He inspires them with the big picture
 He Gave Everyone Ownership
  • Nehemiah 3:12-13
He Gave Everyone Recognition
  • Nehemiah 3:19-20
  • In this chapter, Nehemiah names 74 specific people as well as the groups and families involved.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

We close today with they hymn “Forth in Thy Name, O Lord.”
