In the coming weeks, you may notice that efforts are underway for seeing if providing our complete worship services (8:30 and 10:30) online could become a reality. Chase Herring, a senior at Perry Central School, is a videographer, and live-streams all of the Perry athletic events. Chase has agreed to come to our church and show us how to produce a video of our service(s) which would then be put onto our Facebook page or YouTube. For now, he will use his camera and computer to produce the video. If, after a few weeks, we (GUMC) decide this is a ministry we would like to pursue, he would tell us what equipment we would need to purchase, and train GUMC volunteers on the use of it.
Chase will be coming to our Sunday worship services, so you may see him and his equipment in the sanctuary. Initially, we will be in the experimental stages with these productions. Although the finished products will be accessible on our GUMC church website, they should still be considered “works in progress.” So, in the coming weeks, as we make adjustments, we (and you) will be able to see what a weekly live-stream/recording of our services would be like, and decide if we would like to pursue this form of ministry further.
