God’s Creation Unfolds in Springtime
There seems to be a holiness that happens in the changing of the seasons. Especially as God’s creation begins to unfold in Springtime.
I am especially aware of this as the bushes and trees around us take on a variety of color as the sap inside of them begins to flow once again. They come out of their dormancy and draw the sweet nectar up through their roots to nourish the buds which will provide leaves and flowers. It’s actually quite amazing. And gives us the opportunity to praise our Creator God once again!
Oh that we would draw on this kind of nourishment of our faith. I would encourage us to consider coming out of our dormancy of faith. We have been in this state of being for some time. Blame it on Covid-19, or the church, or the state of the world in which we live. But it is time to bring life into our faith and practice of worship that honors the God whom we love. Holy week offers us many opportunities to do this as we remember what Christ faced in his last week and travel along with him on his journey towards Resurrection, that beautiful gift that offers us new life in him.
Romans 12:9-21 (I encourage you to look it up) gives us a glimpse of the blessings that come when we are the Lord’s love in action. And then we become the word, we become Easter people!
May you and yours have a blessed Easter… however, don’t let the celebrating and hallelujahs end when the last chocolate bunny is gone. Continue to be Easter people beyond Holy Week.
