Pastor Beth’s Lenten and Holy Week worship series is based on the book A Table in The Wilderness, A Lenten Worship Series Focusing On God’s Care and Provision, by Natasha Vedder.
On this second Sunday of Lent, we hear about of a whole bunch of people who look to God to provide as He leads them into an unknown place. And they are grumbling because they are hungry. They were grumbling in Egypt, they were grumbling as they were led through the water, they grumbled as they made their way into the wilderness.
God loved them as the water parted. God loved them as they found freedom in a new land. God even loved them by providing miracle food. God provides. And through these provisions God’s grace is shown.
Lent is a time to be more open to God through the vulnerabilities of life. The good news is that Jesus does not let go of us in our wilderness moments. He is right here with us.
