I Love September
I absolutely love September, for the reason that we get back to the many activities of life and ministry that were on hold during the lull of summer. As I am writing this I am sitting on my porch at our camp by the Seneca River. The mist has just lifted, and an otter just swam by, and I can’t but feel blessed — so important at a time when the world around us is giving us nothing but bad news. We might believe the lie that there is no hope, but we know differently. We have hope because of Jesus. I’m not saying that we should ignore the pain and suffering in the world, instead God is calling us to action… to prayer!
As we move into this busy season, remember Christ has shown us how to truly live into shalom. May our lives be filled with happiness as well as holiness. There we have it, the good news we all need to hear. We are perfectly loved by God.
Psalm 28: 6-7 tells us, “Blessed be the Lord, for he has heard the sound of my pleading. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. Therefore, my heart celebrates, and I give thanks to him with my song.”
Blessings,
Pastor Beth
