Pastor Keith Griswold continues his study of Nehemiah, focusing this week on Chapter 5. We consider how do we solve the problems we face in life.
We open today’s worship with a reading from Psalm 147:1-6.
Our first hymn is “O God, Our Help in Ages Past.”
GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO THINK
- Nehemiah 5:6
- Nehemiah 5:7a
Being angry at injustice is a normal reaction… But we shouldn’t act out of that initial feeling.
ADDRESS THE PROBLEM HEAD-ON
- Nehemiah 5:7b~NIV
- Leviticus 25:35-37
OFFER A WORKABLE SOLUTION
- Nehemiah 5:10-11~NLT
To be an effective leader is to be a person who says “Here’s the problem, here’s the solution to fix it, and I’m asking you to do it.”
LEAD BY EXAMPLE
- Nehemiah 5:14-15
- Matthew 20:25-28
We close today with a hymn that questions “Ask Ye What Great Things I Know.”
