Thank You Lord!
There is a crispness in the air that draws me outdoors. As an avid walker, I love heading out in the early morning for a walk around beautiful Geneseo. For example, this morning Darren and I bundled up with hats and gloves and headed out shortly after the sun came up. It was absolutely beautiful, sun shining on the red and orange leaves and sparkling on the frosty rooftops all around. I couldn’t help but thank God for the beauty of a new day. Funny how I praise God when the sun is shining and I’m feeling chipper, and neglect to do so when the skies are gray and gloomy or I’m feeling down. I hope God doesn’t take offense when I forget to give thanks for every day.
Psalm 96:8-9 tells us, “Ascribe to the lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.”
As we make our way towards Thanksgiving day, let us give thanks for all our blessings. I am extremely grateful, and feeling blessed for this church and all of you.
Let us pray,
Lord, thank you for walking with us through the seasons of our lives. For the winter, when we are held safe in your arms through the darkness; for hope in the spring, as we are filled with new promise and life; for summer time, full of warmth and color, and for autumn days as leaves, orange and brown, fall to blanket the earth. You are always with us, and we give thanks. Amen.
With many Blessings,
Pastor Beth
